Education: Some high school, Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Some university
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice, 5th Period Apprentice, WHMIS, Driver’s License
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Construction
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Commercial, Institutional
Area of Steamfitting and Pipefitting Specialization: Heating systems, Cooling systems, Humidification, Combustible gas systems, Non-combustible gas systems, Medical gas systems, Steam systems, Water purification systems
Pipefitting / Steamfitting Testing Methods: Non-destructive, Hydrostatic, Pneumatic
Type of Piping: Black carbon or steel, Plastic, Copper, Stainless steel, Fibreglass
Specific Skills: Determine layout requirements, Cut openings for pipes in walls, ceilings or floors, Select type and size of pipe, Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size, Weld, braze, cement or solder pipes and joints, Test system for leaks, Remove and replace defective components, Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkling systems, Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment, Erect scaffolding, ladders, lifts and other temporary work platforms, Rig material and equipment, Operate power lifts
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
