Skill Requirements:
Education: Some high school
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Welder Trade Certification, 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Maintenance/repair, New fabrication
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Industrial
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Truck repair, Machinery or equipment repair
Welding Positions: All positions
Materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals
Weight Handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Attention to detail
Work Site Environment: At heights
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation
Essential Skills: Reading text, Writing, Working with others, Problem solving
