Hawthorne Homes, a division of Carma Developers LP builds lifestyle

multifamily housing. An immediate opening exists for a Site

Superintendent. Reporting to the Construction Manager you will be

responsible for reviewing job purchase orders prior to starting construction,

cost controls, project scheduling, home inspections including customer

orientation, and overseeing site staff. The successful candidate will have

strong understanding of residential multi-family construction, four story

wood frame experience, proven team building and leadership skills. Two

years as a Site Superintendent and coursework towards the Professional

Site Manager certification would be an asset.

In addition, the Site Superintendent must possess strong customer

service, communication, relationship building, time management, and

organizational skills.

opportunities for experienced Construction Site Supervisors in our
Civil Infrastructure department. Through continued growth,
opportunities are available in our Edmonton office. We are seeking
energetic, aggressive, career-minded professionals that want to be
challenged, recognized and rewarded for their contributions and hard
work. If you are looking for an opportunity to demonstrate your skills
in a supportive team environment and you have a minimum of ten years
construction experience, managing large civil infrastructure projects,
then we want to hear from you. Typical duties will include: · Assisting
the Project Manager with the initial mobilization and set up of the
construction site. · Taking an active role in the selection, training,
assignment and supervision of project staff, including monitoring
performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action. ·
Coordinating the daily activities of project staff, construction trades
and subcontractors, and taking corrective action to keep the project on
time and on budget. · Helping to resolve design issues, change
requests, material defects and equipment problems. · Monitoring job
progress and costs, and providing regular progress reporting to
management. · Managing all project administration activities including;
payroll, timekeeping, labour coding, equipment coding, purchase order
coding and safety reporting. · Establishing effective onsite
communications and progress reporting with sub-trades and clients. ·
Maintaining effective labour relations through ensuring compliance with
company policies, labour agreements, resolving employee grievances and
treating people fairly. · Helping coach and train Field Engineers,
Project Coordinators and junior Site Supervisors. · Ensuring compliance
with the company health and safety training and reporting requirements.
Preference will be given to candidates with the following
qualifications; · Education: A graduate of a Civil, Mechanical or
Construction Engineering degree or technology diploma program or a
Journeyman Trades Certificate and extensive construction and site
management experience. CSO designation is also preferred. · Experience:
A minimum of ten (10) years of construction site management experience
on large multi-million dollar projects in concrete, earthworks, and
industrial plants etc. · Desired Skills: o A solid understanding of all
construction trades and construction techniques. o The ability to read
and interpret blueprints, schematics and field drawings. o Excellent
interpersonal, conflict resolution and communication skills. o Strong
planning, leadership and team building skills. o The ability to make
timely and rational decisions under pressure. o Good labour relations
and contract administration skills. o Familiar with Workers
Compensation and Safety legislation, and a strong commitment to safety.
o Must have basic computer skills (e-mail, spreadsheets, systems
navigation, etc.) Graham offers a competitive salary package
