  Skill Requirements:
   
Education: Completion of high school, Some college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Provincial accreditation - Journeyman Process Operator/Technician, Occupational Health and Safety Training Certificate, Industrial First Aid Certificate, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate
Experience: 1 - 2 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Work Setting: Petroleum and natural gas processing company, Pipeline and petrochemical company
Specific Skills: Operate electronic or computerized control panel from a central control room, Monitor and optimize physical and chemical process for several processing units, Control process start-up, shut-down and troubleshooting, Monitor outside process equipment, Adjust equipment, valves, pumps and controls and process equipment, Shut down, isolate and prepare process units or production equipment for maintenance, Sample products, perform tests and record data, Carry out statistical process control on process operations, Develop operator procedures for normal operation, start-up or shut-down, Provide emergency response when required, Rotate between different processing units during shift cycles, Work in a team with shared supervisory responsibilities
Additional Skills: Participate in training of other workers, Write production logs, Participate in safety audits and programs
Essential Skills: Reading text, Document use, Numeracy, Writing, Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, Computer use
