Mechanic, repairer (UPS Fleet Mechanic)

  Skill Requirements:
   
Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice, Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician Red Seal Endorsement
Experience: 1 - 2 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Repair, Maintenance, Service
Type of Equipment Repair: Diesel powered automobiles
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions, Determine extent of repair required, Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, Test repaired equipment for proper performance, Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work, Service attachments and working tools
Additional Skills: Order parts and maintain inventory, Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Security and Safety: Bondable, Driving record check (abstract)
Own Tools/Equipment: Tools, Steel-toed safety boots
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Attention to detail
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking
