Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Steamfitter – Pipefitter Trade Certification, 1st Period Apprentice, 2nd Period Apprentice, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice, 5th Period Apprentice, Steamfitter – Pipefitter Red Seal Certificate, First Aid Certificate, WHMIS, Driver’s License
Experience: Experience an asset
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English

Pipefitting / Steamfitting Testing Methods: Non-destructive, Hydrostatic, Pneumatic
Type of Piping: Black carbon or steel, Plastic, Copper, Stainless steel
Specific Skills: Determine layout requirements, Cut openings for pipes in walls, ceilings or floors, Select type and size of pipe, Measure, cut, thread and bend pipes to required shape and size, Weld, braze, cement or solder pipes and joints, Test system for leaks, Remove and replace defective components, Install clamps, brackets and hangers to support piping and sprinkling systems, Connect piping systems to water mains, supply tanks, pumps, compressors and control equipment, Erect scaffolding, ladders, lifts and other temporary work platforms, Rig material and equipment, Operate power lifts, Start up and reactivate systems
Additional Skills: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications, Instruct apprentices
