Skill Requirements:
Education: Completion of high school, Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Trade Certification, 3rd Period Apprentice, 4th Period Apprentice
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Machinery installation, New construction, Maintenance, Service, Repair
Area of Specialization: Assembling machinery and equipment, Installing machinery and equipment, Adjusting machinery and equipment, Start-up and testing, Rigging and handling, Troubleshooting, Bearing, seals and packing
Type of Industry/Work Setting Experience: Oil and gas industry, Manufacturing, Metal fabrication, Equipment fabrication, Steel industry
Type of Machinery or Equipment: Pumps and compressors, Hoists and other lifting devices, Grinders, Power tools, Hydraulic systems
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Detect and troubleshoot irregularities and malfunctions, Construct foundations for machinery, Install machinery and mechanical equipment, Repair or replace defective machinery parts, Fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up, Perform routine maintenance work on machinery, Assemble machinery prior to installation, Operate machining tools to fabricate parts
Additional Skills: Coach and instruct apprentices, Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
Security and Safety: Bondable, Basic security clearance, Driving record check (abstract)
