Position Outline:
The Rotating Equipment Specialist will provide direction and input to the Upgrading Millennium mechanical rotating equipment disciplines on site issues and requirements and supports the Coordinator, where site approval is required on mechanical issues and key engineering deliverables.

Key Accountabilities:
The Rotating Equipment Specialist is tasked with:
- Maintain a record of site issues with the mechanical design and ensures that all issues have a documented resolution and timely path forward and ensures
that lessons learned are addressed.
- Interface with Suncor Mechanical and Reliability Engineering Lead to resolve issues with the Engineering House.
- Participate in HAZOP’s, 3D model reviews, P&ID reviews, and risk reviews for operability, maintainability, and reliability.
- Provide direction to engineering groups for requirements of planning and coordination of equipment system tie-ins.
- Interface with Suncor Mechanical Coordinator to resolve operability, maintainability and installation issues as they impact the design.
- Primary responsibility to ensure development of procedures for function testing of rotating equipment during commissions and start up.

Qualification Requirements:
The successful candidate will have:
- Mechanical Technologist diploma or Journeyman Millwright

- minimum six to ten years experience with machinery in a refinery or petrochemical facility
- A good working knowledge and relationship with vendors and suppliers would be an asset.
