Education: Completion of college/CEGEP/vocational or technical training
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Welder Trade Certification, Welder Red Seal Endorsement, Canadian Welding Bureau Certification, Pressure Welding Certification
Experience: 3 – 5 years
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Maintenance/repair
Type of Establishment/Work Setting Experience: Industrial
Area of Specialization: Custom fabrication, Pressure vessels
Welding Techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG), Tubular, Vessel
Type of Machine Experience: Arc welding machines
Welding Positions: All positions
Materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Interpret welding process specifications, Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes, Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications, Layout patterns, Supervise other workers
Security and Safety: Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots
